Delete your account

Request permanent deletion of your Buko account and personal account data. No app login is required — verify ownership of your email and confirm.

What gets deleted: your profile (name, handle, avatar, cover), email and login bindings, active sessions, push tokens, and your Moments and their photos. This is permanent and cannot be undone. Existing contact references, group membership, and group ownership may remain visible to other members under a generic “Deleted User” identity. Ownership is not transferred automatically. The group or channel remains visible to surviving members and continues under its existing role and posting rules; capabilities that require an owner or admin may no longer be available. The space is dissolved only after no live human members remain. The server message buffer is automatically removed within 30 days. Copies already delivered to participants’ devices are outside Buko’s control and may remain there, including screenshots or exported copies. Moments are otherwise retained for up to 60 days, but your own Moments are removed when you delete your account. To prevent repeated account churn, non-reversible keyed digests of your deleted sign-in identities are retained for 24 hours; the original email and provider identifiers are not retained in this cooldown record. After the cooldown, the same sign-in identity may register a separate new account with no restored profile, contacts, groups, or history.
